Important: @Monbusho mail is now hosted on New Google Apps Servers

Dear Monbusho.org Mail Users,

With Google recently providing IMAP access and POP access to their mail offerings, which means that you can check email from the web, or your favourite mail software as normal, we have decided to move @monbusho.org mail to be hosted with gmail. It will be hosted natively with gmail, so that you do not need a normal account with gmail at all. All you need is your regular mail password and address. This gives you:
* 4.7GB of mail storage (and growing everyday! The last server only had 1GB for your account)
* Full IMAP Access
* POP Access
* @monbusho webmail using a gmail interface!
... and much more

What does it mean for you? Gmail's technology is already much better than what we were giving you, and as we make no money, we can not really invest in better infrastructure. Moving to gmail was the smartest way to provide @monbusho.org email that is fast, and matches the best email service anywhere. The only impact that you will have, is that your mail password will change (as I have no way of knowing your current one), you have to set up your "email forwarding rules" again (these are not migrated). Your mail has been migrated totally to the new service, so you wont loose anything at all. It will be marked with a tag called "migrated" in the new inbox.

Follow these simple steps to get up and running with your new bigger, faster @monbusho.org email service:

1. Send a mail to me, address is mal [at] monbusho.org (replace the [at] with an @ of course), and tell me your monbusho email address, and your full name. I will then send you your email password for the new server.

2. Go to:
http://mail.monbusho.org
And log in with your password and your username.

3. To just use webmail that's it! The rest is self explanatory! You can use your @monbusho.org just like any normal gmail account, go and edit your labels (they will be your folders in your PC email client) and clean it all up. Go into settings and make forwarders (filters, to send your mail to another account etc etc), and change other preferences. If you use POP or IMAP (to see your mail in mail software on your PC, make sure you go into the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" section, and enable either POP or IMAP (they wont work until you do this!!).

- 3.1 If you use @monbusho.org mail with an IMAP Email Client, use up your email software by following this guide (make sure you enabled IMAP in step above!):
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=12760
(In this guide, it gives a @gmail.com address in the example, but yours will be @monbusho.org!!)

- 3.2 If you use @monbusho.org mail with a POP Email Client, use up your email software by following this guide (Make sure you enabled POP in the step above!):
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=1555
(In this guide, it gives a @gmail.com address in the example, but yours will be @monbusho.org!!)

Remember, you will always be able to access your mail on the web at:
http://mail.monbusho.org But, youll need your new password first see step 1.
The homepage for monbusho.org will NOT be moving anywhere, only the mail service has moved.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that you can still use "Monbumail":
http://www.monbusho.org/monbumail
This is very useful if your work blocks other domains.. They wont block this one. (You will need to set up your preferences again in monbumail).

All migration of all accounts is now finished. You have not lost any mail in this process.

Thanks
Mal
